please ignore: neon piercings, odd shadows, iffy background, and the bizarre lumpy-bumpy appearance of sock one...the sock isn't to blame--it's just a poor photo (t'ain't easy doing quality photography (or editing for that matter) at the best of times, much the less at 4:30 in the morning)



better photos (i hope) once i get the pair washed and blocked...at least i shouldn't have to be doing that in the "wee sma's" of monday morning (wheeeeeeeee!)

well shit crap...the countdown timer really messes up the page formatting in firefox (and most likely netscape as well) but looks fine in IE...sorry folks, i'll have to see if i can figure out where the code goes wrong later *grumble*

figured it out by looking at katy's source code *WHEW* not the first time "view source" has come in handy :-)

on a more positive note, however, is a sunset shot for sandy (though i doubt she'll see it, so it's equally for anyone who enjoys sunsets...or just happened to stop by)...




it makes me feel a little better...it's hard to worry too much about the perversity of socks or much of anything when watching the colors change in a sunset...

there's been a change in plans with respect to both pattern and yarn, and imho they're not terribly exciting, but the yarn is nice, and they should be comfy and warm, which i suppose is a good thing for socks to aspire to.

i really enjoyed knitting this one...and i've already got yarn for a second one, earmarked for the cute-as-a-bug-in-a-rug daughter of my cousin...

Details:

Pattern: Oat Couture's Angel Sweater--nice pattern (i did have some issues with the sleeve shaping, so i may experiment with that, but they turned out nicely regardless), easy to follow and it makes a darned cute sweater :-)

Yarn: Louet Gems Merino Opal, color "Willow" (to me, neither of these photos is exactly 'right' in capturing the color...it's somewhere between the two) this yarn is great to work with, soft and 'squnchy', and feels just as nice knit up, great stitch definition...and it's machine washable!

Needles: from my trusty Denise kit, a perfect choice to use, since the pattern calls for a variety of needle sizes to do the shaping
